Lucy Hale on Beauty Faves, Fans, and Finding Her Way On Pretty Little Liars


Shhhh… we’ve got some exclusive Pretty Little Liars scoop from mark. Brand Ambassador Lucy Hale. We know what you’re thinking—and no, she didn’t reveal Uber A’s identity—but she did give us the details on what it’s like tackling the world from the perspective of two empowered women (herself and her character).
Much like her on-screen alter ego, Lucy is a fearless risk taker, especially when it comes to her beauty routine. Read on to discover five things the star has learned both in front of and behind the camera.
The show is called Pretty Little Liars—in what ways is your on-set beauty a fantasy for the average girl?
Well, mainly the average girl doesn’t get to sit in a chair and have professionals glam her up! I obsess over makeup products and hair products, so it’s a dream to get to try out new looks and discover new beauty finds.
Now that you’re a mark. expert, which mark. products would you recommend that Aria add to her makeup bag?
Aria is very lucky and already uses many mark. products, some of her favorites being Vixen lip color for a bold pout and Touch & Glow for a flawless complexion. She is also the girl who loves to try all of the trends, so she’d probably like some of the bright metallic liners.
PLL has a diehard following. What have your fans taught you throughout the experience?
It’s nice to see people that are so passionate, and our fans are definitely passionate about the show. It makes me want to give that same attitude to everything that I do in life.
How do you think the show has empowered young women?
I think the foundation of our show is definitely friendship. The bond between these girls is unbreakable. These are also four independent, strong women. That’s important for women to see.
What are you looking forward to about wrapping PLL?
I’m very excited about the future. The unknown can be scary, but I’m buckling up for whatever is to come my way. PLL has taught me so much about my craft, but also about life too. I spent most of my 20s on the show, so in a way it’s helped mold me into the woman I am today.
